Collector inspects infrastructure works

KRISHNAGIRI: Collector V.K. Shanmugam recently inspected infrastructure works at Rs. 30 lakh, including the construction of new houses in three Sri Lankan refugee camps in the district.


In Kelavarapalli refugee camp, works on erection of hand pumps and deep bore wells at Rs. 1.5 lakh, new OHT at Rs. 48,000, laying of drinking water pipes at Rs. 45,000, 40 toilets at Rs. 10.60 lakh, construction of drainage channels at Rs. 2 lakhs and erection of posts and street lights at Rs. 50,000 are under process.

Inspecting the works, Mr. Shanmugam said a proposal has been sent to the Government for the construction of 18 new houses at Rs. 3 lakh, and for repairing 24 houses at an estimate of Rs. 6 lakh.

He had also inspected the development works under progress at the Pambar Dam camp and Pochampalli camp.

He had instructed the officials to finish the works on time without compromising on quality.
